Title IX is a federal law, enacted in 1972 states: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Ignacio School District School Board is obligated to ensure that no student or employee suffers discrimination on the basis of sex, as defined in Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972. When any student or staff member believes he or she has been the victim of, or has knowledge of conduct that may constitute discrimination or harassment prohibited by law, the incident should be reported to the Superintendent as soon as possible after the occurrence. Complaints of discrimination (see bottom of page) or harassment in violation of Title IX and/or School Board policies should be filed with the Superintendent, or provided to the Superintendent at any time and by any means listed below:

Complaints will be addressed promptly and appropriate steps will be taken to investigate. Upon completing the investigation, the outcome will be shared with all stakeholders.
